Brie Larson
Brie Larson is an American actress, filmmaker, and musician. Larson’s breakout role came in 2013 with the release of “Short Term 12,” a drama film in which she played a supervisor at a group home for troubled teenagers. Her performance was widely praised, earning her critical acclaim and several awards, including the Independent Spirit Award for Best Female Lead.
In 2015, Larson starred in the critically acclaimed film “Room,” in which she played a young mother held captive in a single room with her son. Her performance earned several awards, including the Academy Award for Best Actress, the Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Motion Picture – Drama, and the Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Leading Role.
Following the success of “Room,” Larson went on to appear in a string of hit films, including “Kong: Skull Island” (2017), “Captain Marvel” (2019), and “Just Mercy” (2019). She worked alongside some of the biggest names in Hollywood, including Samuel L. Jackson, Tom Hiddleston, and Michael B. Jordan. Larson also made her directorial debut in 2017 with the film “Unicorn Store,” in which she also starred.
Larson’s has also collaborated with with renowned directors like Destin Daniel Cretton and Jordan Peele, and has appeared alongside actors such as Woody Harrelson, Naomi Watts, and John C. Reilly. Larson’s close friendship with Emma Stone brought collaborations on several projects, including the comedy web series “Roommate” and the film “La La Land.”
Larson has also been a vocal supporter of gender and racial equality. She has used her platform to advocate for women and people of color in the entertainment industry and has spoken out against gender and racial discrimination.
