Actor and Labrador Roy Hawn-Russell has made headlines for the second time this week. First, he had his debut acting role, starring in Budweiser’s Super Bowl commercial. Then a day later, he landed his first brand partnership with a canned cocktail brand called Lake Hour.
And yes, if Roy’s last name sounds familiar, it’s because he’s a nepo (fur) baby of beloved Hollywood couple Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell.
Parlaying his success with beer, Roy quickly moved to canned cocktails and locked down a two-year (14 dog years) deal!
In a press release, Roy took the time to shout out his equine scene partners from his hit Budweiser ad that launched his career, thanking “Bud and Mark [Clydesdales], the consummate pros,” for their “unending belief in himself and his acting” and for “two months of back-and-forth emailing and one amazing day of filming” he’ll never forget.
Roy also has to thank Lake Hour co-founder, Wyatt Russell. And you may notice Wyatt and Roy share a last name? Well, that’s because they’re siblings! With Wyatt being the only (human) child of Kurt and Goldie.
Roy is honest in acknowledging that his celebrity pedigree gave him a paw up. But considering his stellar performance acting in the snow and alongside Budweiser’s iconic Clydesdales, he has the acting chops to back it up. And his laid-back Lab vibe seems a perfect fit for cracking a cold one by the lake.
