Sarah Hyland
Sarah Hyland is an American actress and singer. She started with a small role in the film Private Parts (1997) and later in Annie (1999) and Blind Date (2007). In 2009, she got a lead role in the popular series Modern Family (2009–2020). Sarah won four Screen Actors Guild Awards for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Comedy Series and a nomination for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. Modern Family also starred Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Rico Rodriguez, Ariel Winter, Julie Bowen, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Eric Stonestreet.
Sarah’s comedic flair also led her to be part of the ensemble cast of “Scary Movie 5” in 2013, where she teamed up with comedic stars Simon Rex and Ashley Tisdale. Though the movie itself was met with mixed reviews, Hyland’s performance stood out.
Around the same time, her musical prowess led her to work with the legendary Elton John in the animated feature “Gnomeo & Juliet,” where she lent her voice to the character Call Me Doll. Hyland’s participation in this film enabled her to show her range.
Sarah further delved into music by collaborating with the popular electronic dance music band, Boyce Avenue. In 2016, their cover of The Chainsmokers’ “Closer” with Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall became a YouTube sensation.
In later years, Hyland has also formed a recurring on-screen partnership with actor Adam Devine. They first worked together in “Modern Family” and then in the romantic comedy “The Wedding Year” in 2019. Their natural chemistry added a unique charm to the film.
