Gertrude Stein (Dog)
Julie Bowen has a rescue dog called Gertrude Stein, which gets her name from the early 20th-century American poet and novelist. Bowen adopted Gertrude from the Labelle Foundation in Los Angeles in 2020. Gertrude’s breed is a “chug” which is a mix of chihuahua and pug.

Julie Bowen is an American actress best known for her role as Claire Dunphy on the ABC comedy series Modern Family. Bowen began her acting career in 1996 with a recurring role on the television series, ER. She went on to act in many TV series, including Lost, Ed, Boston Legal, and Weeds. She also appeared in several films, including Horrible Bosses (2011) and Jumping the Broom (2011). Bowen won two Emmy Awards for her role on Modern Family and has been nominated for six Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She has also been nominated for three Screen Actors Guild Awards. Modern Family also starred Ed O’Neill, Sofia Vergara, Ty Burrell, Sarah Hyland, Ariel Winter, Rico Rodriguez, Jesse Tyler Ferguson, and Eric Stonestreet.
