Rian Johnson's Pets

Rian Johnson is an American writer, director, and producer. He’s best known for writing and directing Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017) and before that, Looper (2012). Born in Maryland in 1973, Johnson attended the University of Southern California’s School of Cinematic Arts. While there, he wrote and directed several student films, one of which, Evil Demon Golfball from Hell!!, won a number of awards. His debut feature film, Brick, was released in 2005 to critical acclaim and helped Johnson transition from student filmmaker to professional director. He’s most recently known for writing, directing, and producing Knives Out (2019) and Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery (2022) for Netflix. Both films starred Daniel Craig, with Knives Out featuring Ana de Armas, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Michael Shannon, Don Johnson, Toni Collette, and LaKeith Stanfield. Glass Onion also featured Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Janelle Monáe, Leslie Odom Jr., Madelyn Cline, and Dave Bautista
