Elizabeth Holmes
Elizabeth Holmes is a former American businesswoman and founder of Theranos, a now-defunct blood testing company. She was once hailed as a rising star in the tech industry, known for her revolutionary idea of using a small amount of blood to perform a wide range of diagnostic tests. However, her success was short-lived as it was later revealed that the technology did not work as promised, leading to widespread fraud charges.
During her time at Theranos, Elizabeth worked with a number of high-profile individuals, including former Secretary of State Henry Kissinger, who joined the company’s board of directors. She also worked with media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who invested $125 million in Theranos. Additionally, Elizabeth was known to be a frequent attendee at events hosted by influential figures like Bill Clinton and Joe Biden.
Despite her initial success, Elizabeth’s career has been marred by controversy and legal troubles. In 2018, she was charged with multiple counts of fraud and conspiracy, accused of deceiving investors, doctors, and patients about the efficacy of Theranos’ blood testing technology. She pleaded not guilty to the charges and is currently awaiting trial.
