Bernardo Silva is a Portuguese professional footballer who plays as an attacking midfielder or a winger for Premier League club Manchester City and the Portugal national team.

Silva made his senior debut for Portugal in 2015 after previously being capped by the nations’s youth teams at under-19 and under-21 levels. He was chosen in Portugal’s squads for the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup, 2018 FIFA World Cup, 2019 UEFA Nations League Finals and UEFA Euro 2020, winning the 2019 tournament on home soil while also being named as the Player of the Tournament.

Throughout his illustrious career, he has formed remarkable partnerships with football greats that have elevated his game and presence on the pitch. At AS Monaco, his understanding with Radamel Falcao in 2016-2017 was a delight, with the two of them spearheading Monaco’s surprise challenge for the Ligue 1 title. When he transferred to Manchester City in 2017, his collaborations with Kevin De Bruyne and Raheem Sterling were palpable, orchestrating some of the most mesmerizing plays in the Premier League under the tutelage of the legendary manager Pep Guardiola. Not to forget, Silva’s international collaborations, most notably with Cristiano Ronaldo and Bruno Fernandes, have been instrumental for Portugal, especially during the UEFA Nations League 2019 triumph.

Bernardo Silva’s illustrious career has been marked by numerous distinctions that truly encapsulate his talent and contributions to football. In 2019, his stellar performances for both club and country saw him nominated for the prestigious Ballon d’Or, a testament to his world-class abilities. His consistency in the Premier League with Manchester City was rewarded in the same year as he became an integral member of the squad that secured the domestic treble – the Premier League, the FA Cup, and the League Cup. Furthermore, representing his nation, Silva was pivotal in Portugal’s victory in the 2019 UEFA Nations League, where his undeniable flair and vision on the pitch shone brightly, earning him the Player of the Tournament title.
