Kaley Cuoco and her husband Tom Pelphrey have many rescued dogs and farm animals in their family. They sadly had to say goodbye to one named King. A senior Chihuahua, King was the first rescue they adopted as a couple, with Cuoco saying he was, “Honestly the most special.” They each posted a gallery of memories with King, along with lengthy heartfelt captions about him.
Cuoco tells the story of how, while in Germany, she saw King online, shaking in an Atlanta Shelter. She knew she wanted King to join her pack of rescues and asked the shelter to hold him. She ends it with a plea, “I urge you to rescue your next best friend.”
Many fans, rescue organizations, and celebrities left their condolences in the comments. Amanda Seyfried, (proud mom of her famous dog, Finn) said, “He was a lucky guy.” Taylor Lautner said, “Sending you guys all the love in the world.” Olivia Munn said, “I’m so sorry for your loss. Sweet sweet pup.” Vanderpump Rules star Kristen Doute said, “My fur babes and I love y’all.” A follower of Cuoco’s @katie.lavery said, “Norman and Dumpy are waiting for him at the rainbow bridge.” Cuoco’s rescue, Dump Truck, passed away last May. That same month Cuoco launched “Hey Norman!” a dog accessories brand dedicated to her rescue Norman.
Tom Pelphrey shares some touching memories in his post above. Such as King cuddling Kaley through her entire pregnancy. And how their late rescue Dump Truck taught King how to drink water again. The couple used to have seven rescue dogs before the passing of King. Back in November, they adopted the 7th, a Chihuahua named Red, who was found running across a busy street after getting freaked out by fireworks.
