Mena Massoud is an Egyptian Canadian actor. Born in Cairo, Egypt, Massoud immigrated to Canada at a young age, where he pursued his passion for acting. One of his notable breakthrough performances was in the live-action adaptation of Disney’s “Aladdin” in 2019, where he portrayed the iconic character of Aladdin. He has worked alongside acclaimed actors such as Will Smith, who played the role of Genie in ‘Aladdin,’ Naomi Scott, who portrayed Princess Jasmine, and director Guy Ritchie. Massoud’s portrayal of Aladdin earned him nominations for the Teen Choice Award for Choice Sci-Fi/Fantasy Movie Actor and the Saturn Award for Best Performance by a Younger Actor.
