Liam Payne
Liam Payne is an English singer and songwriter. He rose to fame as a member of the boy band One Direction. Payne made his debut as a singer in 2008 when he auditioned for the British television series The X Factor. After being eliminated in the competition, he auditioned again in 2010 and was put into a group with four other contestants to form One Direction, which went on to become one of the best-selling boy bands of all time. Payne worked with other producers under the monikers “Big Payno” and “Payno” creating remixes for songs by his group and Cheryl.
After the group went on hiatus, Payne embarked on a solo career, releasing his debut extended play “First Time” in 2018 and full-length album “LP1” in 2019. Both of these works charted globally and demonstrated Payne’s evolution as a versatile artist, as they encompassed genres ranging from pop to R&B and electronic.
Throughout his career, Payne has collaborated with an impressive roster of musicians and celebrities. Among these are Zedd on the track “Get Low,” Rita Ora on the hit single “For You” for the “Fifty Shades Freed” soundtrack, and J Balvin for the song “Familiar.” Other significant collaborations include A Boogie wit da Hoodie, Jonas Blue, Lennon Stella, KEVI, Trevor Dahl, and Matthew Russell of Cheat Codes, Wiz Khalifa, and Juicy J.
Payne has been recognized in various ways for his contributions to music. In 2017, he won the Teen Choice Award for Choice Summer Male Artist, while in 2019, he received a Brit Award nomination for British Single of the Year for “For You,” his duet with Rita Ora. Additionally, during his time with One Direction, Payne and his bandmates, Niall Horan, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson, and Zayn Malik, collectively received several awards, including multiple Brit and American Music Awards.
