Kim Kardashian was just interviewed by Jimmy Kimmel and started with a story about an after-school job she had as a kid in elementary school. And the job was typical enough: dog walking. But as a Kardashian, her clientele was a bit more exclusive: the actual MADONNA. And her payment: Jewelry of course!
The Queen of Pop lived next door to the Kardashian family when Kim was seven or eight years old, which was in the late 1980s. Madonna was at the peak of her fame and probably didn’t have time to walk her dogs enough, so she enlisted Kim and her sister Kourtney. “She was my next door neighbor when I was like seven or eight years old. I was her dog-walker. Kourtney and I would walk her dog after school,” Kim recalled, “In exchange for her jewelry.” Kimmel then ask what kind of jewelry, with Kim replying, “She was transitioning out of the 80s neon phase, so one day she just walked downstairs and handed us a shoebox of all these neon bracelets. And Kourtney and I went to school and everyone was like, ‘Oh my God I love your bracelets!’ And we were like, ‘Thanks, Madonna gave them to us.'”
Kim had a much less successful celebrity pet collab last year, when she was attacked by Karl Lagerfeld’s cat Choupette.
