Guinness World Records recently orchestrated a meeting of epic proportions: Reginald, the world’s tallest living dog, came face-to-face with Pearl, the world’s shortest dog. Reginald, a Great Dane towering at a whopping 3 feet 3 inches, is described by his owner as just a “big baby.” Apparently, despite his imposing stature, “he acts more like he’s like three like a human toddler.” Pearl, on the other hand, measures in at a mere 3.5 inches tall. Her owner notes that while “she’s small in size… she has a big personality.” So, we’ve got a giant toddler and a tiny diva, which adds up. Kevin took the title after the previous tallest dog, Kevin, tragically passed away days after he set the record in June 2024.

The video captures their first meeting, a moment Reginald’s owner called “amazing.” Pearl’s owner, however, gave a slightly more, shall we say, realistic account of the initial interaction: “Pearl was so excited and she is very interested in him and he is kind of like ‘Whoa I have no idea what that is and I don’t think I want them near me.'” Classic. Despite the initial canine confusion, Reginald was reportedly “very gentle, very very kind as best as he could be.” What’s next, dog with the longest tail meeting the one with the shortest leash?
After Pearl was crowned World’s Shortest Dog, Demi Moore publicly campaigned that her ultra-tiny chihuahua Pilaf should be considered for the title.
