Her film credits include Empire Records (1995), End of Days (1999), and Vertical Limit (2000). She also appeared in the series Prison Break (2005–2006) as Veronica Donovan.
Tunney portrayed Teresa Lisbon in The Mentalist, working alongside Simon Baker throughout the series. In The Craft, she played Sarah Bailey, acting with Neve Campbell in the supernatural drama. In Empire Records, she shared screen time with Renée Zellweger in the ensemble cast. In End of Days, she acted opposite Arnold Schwarzenegger in the action thriller.
