O’Shea Jackson Sr, better known as Ice Cube is an American rapper and actor born June 15, 1969. Thanks to a successful career in both music and film, he has built an estimated net worth of $120 million. Ice Cube first became known for being part of the iconic rap group N.W.A. with Dr. Dre, Eazy-E, Mc Ren and DJ Yella. He performed with N.W.A. from their start in 1986, before leaving the group in 1989. The same year he released his debut solo album AmeriKKKa’s Most Wanted, followed up with Kill At will, which became the first hip hop EP to be certified platinum. He has released 9 solo albums, two albums with Westside Connection and two with N.W.A. over his musical career and is considered a founder of gangster rap and one of the greatest MCs of all time.
In 1991 he also launched his career as a leading Hollywood actor for his lead role in Boyz in the Hood, which also starred Cuba Gooding Jr and Laurence Fishburne. He kept appearing in movies throughout the 1990s with his 1995 comedy Friday now a classic comedy with two sequels and 1998’s Three Kings with Mark Wahlberg and George Clooney a critical success. His most recent hit movies include Ride Along with Kevin Hart and 21 Jump Street with Jonah Hill and Channing Tatum. Throughout the 2000s and 2010s, it seemed his acting career had overtaken his music, acting in over 30 films total.
