Ellen Kathleen Pompeo is an American actress who has gained international recognition for her role as the titular Dr. Meredith Grey on the medical drama series “Grey’s Anatomy”. One of the world’s highest-paid actors since 2017, Pompeo has graced the Forbes‘ year-end lists on multiple occasions. Her career milestones include a Screen Actors Guild Award and a Golden Globe Award nomination.
Pompeo’s journey into the world of acting began in earnest with a variety of roles in television and film. She made her screen debut in NBC’s legal drama “Law & Order” and later made appearances in other television shows such as “Strangers with Candy,” “Strong Medicine,” and “Friends.” Her feature film debut came with the romantic comedy “Coming Soon in 1999,” but it was her lead role in Brad Silberling’s romantic drama “Moonlight Mile” in 2002 that really put her on the map.
