He also gained recognition for his role as A.J. in the hit HBO show “The Comeback” (2014). He has appeared in several other popular TV shows, including “Love” (2016-2018), “Stranger Things” (2017), and “Fleabag” (2019).

Throughout his career, Gelman has collaborated with many renowned artists, celebrities, and influential people. He has worked with acclaimed comedians like Sarah Silverman and Jon Daly, and has appeared in several episodes of “Drunk History” alongside other notable comedians such as Jen Kirkman and Rich Fulcher. He has also worked with well-known directors like David Wain, appearing in movies such as “They Came Together” (2014) and “A Futile and Stupid Gesture” (2018).

One of the milestones in Gelman’s career was his work on the Adult Swim show “Brett Gelman’s Dinner in America” (2016). In the show, Gelman satirizes the typical American family sitcom by inviting guests over for dinner and discussing serious social issues like racism, sexism, and police brutality.

In “Stranger Things,” Brett Gelman played the role of conspiracy theorist and journalist, Murray Bauman. He appears in the second and third seasons of the show, offering his investigative skills to help uncover the truth about the mysterious happenings in Hawkins, Indiana. Bauman’s comedic banter with his partner, Joyce Byers, played by Winona Ryder, added a touch of levity to the show’s darker moments. The show also starred Charlie Heaton, Maya Hawke, Natalia Dyer, David Harbour, Joe Keery, Gaten Matarazzo, Sadie Sink, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Finn Wolfhard, and Millie Bobby Brown.

Gelman is also known for his voice acting work, having lent his voice to characters in popular animated shows like “Bob’s Burgers” and “Adventure Time”. He has also appeared in numerous films, including “The Other Guys” (2010), “30 Minutes or Less” (2011), and “The Disaster Artist” (2017).
