Does Lady Gaga Have Any Pets?

Lady Gaga has four dogs: the iconic French Bulldog trio of Miss Asia Kinney, Koji, and Gustav. And then she got a 4th unnamed Frenchie in August 2024. She also has three horses named Trigger, Gracie, and Sandy.

Miss Asia Kinney (aka BATPIG)

Breed: French Bulldog | Adopted Apr 2014

With over 220,000 Instagram Followers, Lady Gaga’s dog, Miss Asia Kinney, aka BATPIG, is one of the most famous celebrity dogs. Born in February 2014, Lady Gaga adopted her in April 2014. In addition to massive Internet fame, Lady Gaga has also secured a modelling contract for her small dog Miss Asia Kinney, with COACH. She can be seen sporting a trendy collar as part of the “Coach Pups” campaign, which also featured Ariana Grande’s dog, Toulouse. A true philanthropist like her human, Miss Asia donated to the Chicago French Bulldog Rescue as part of the Coach Pups campaign.

Koji

Breed: French Bulldog | Adopted Jan 2015

Koji is the second of Lady Gaga’s three French bulldogs, who she got a year after his famous sister Miss Asia. Gaga said on Instagram that “Koji” means “little one” because he is so small!

Gustav (aka Cowpig / Moopig)

Breed: French Bulldog | Adopted Dec 2016

Gustav (sometimes called Gustavo) is the third of Lady Gaga’s three French bulldogs. When Gaga first got him at the end of 2016, she couldn’t think of a name. So she called him either Cowpig or Moopig until she chose Gustav.

Mr. Bocce

Breed: French Bulldog

Lady Gaga has three French Bulldogs, but her trio is often seen with a fourth blue Frenchie that gets mistaken for hers. This Frenchie in question is Mr. Bocce, whose human is Gaga’s assistant Ashley Gutierrez.

Trigger

Adopted 2016

Lady Gaga has one horse, a white stallion named Trigger. Trigger had two foals with Gaga’s late horse, Arabella, named Sandy and Gracie.

I’m so happy to be with Trigger today my big man. Joanne vibes. I haven’t ridden my horse in a couple years because Arabella passed away. Today is a truly beautiful Sunday and I’m sending you all gratitude.

Arabella

Breed: Arabian | Adopted Dec 2015

Lady Gaga used to have a beloved white Arabian mare named Arabella. Arabella’s name means “yield to prayer.” Gaga has always loved horses and wanted one since she was a child. Arabella was a Christmas gift Interscope Records’s CEO John Janick and Vice Chairman Steve Berman gave to her in 2015.

I guess, when I moved to California, the sunlight was really good for me – I was happy. The sunshine helped to keep an optimism in my music. And while out there, I developed a special connection to horses. It began when my record label gave me a horse for my birthday: an Arabian mare named Arabella. I had never taken a horse-riding lesson. I literally did not know how to ride a horse. But I just grabbed her by the mane and rode her bareback.

In 2016, Arabella started dating Trigger, and they had two kids together named Gracie and Sandy. Tragically, Arabella passed away in January 2019.

I am so honored and blessed to have won both Best Song and Best Actress alongside Glenn Close this evening. My heart is exploding with pride. But it saddens me to say that just after the show I learned that my dear angel of a horse, Arabella, is dying. I am rushing to her now to say goodbye. Her name means “yield to prayer”. She is and was a beautiful horse. Our souls and spirits were one. When she was in pain, so was I. I will never forget the moments we shared. Long hikes together, galloping through the canyons. Feeding her cookies. She will forever be a part of me. I am so very sad. But I wish for your pain to end, and the gates of heaven to open for you. I love you. Girl, where do you think you’re goin?

Yoko

Breed: Shiba Inu

Lady Gaga used to have a Shiba Inu named Yoko in the 2000s/early 2010s.

Fozzi

Breed: Mixed Breed

Lady Gaga used to have a dog named Fozzi. His nickname is Fozzie Bear, and he’s a Maltese-poodle mix. While still his fur mom, Fozzi has lived with his fur dad Frederic Aspiras since 2012 (who worked as Gaga’s hair stylist). In February 2013, Fozzi made headlines when tabloids reported that Lady Gaga rented two floors of a luxury London hotel, with one floor just for Fozzi to run around!

Lava and Rumpus

Breed: Great Dane | Adopted 2004

While not actual fur babies of Lady Gaga, Lava and Rumpus are two Great Danes famous for their appearances in music videos from The Fame era. Lava was mother to her boy Rumpus, and their owner was Suzzane Kelleher-Ducket. Rumpus passed away in 2009, and Lava in 2011. They appeared in the following Lady Gaga music videos: “Poker Face,” “The Fame: Pt. 1,”, “Chillin,” “LoveGame,” “Eh, Eh (Nothing Else I Can Say),” “Paparazzi,” and “Telephone.” After the tragic death of Rumpus, only Lava appeared in the “Bad Romance” video.

Lava and Rumpus are best known for their appearance in the iconic “Poker Face” music video.

Ronnie and Grandpa

Breed: Great Pyrenees

Lady Gaga used to have two Great Pyrenees guard dogs named Ronnie and Grandpa, named after her grandma Ronnie and grandpa Paul. Lady Gaga hasn’t mentioned or posted about them in years, and judging by the average lifespan of the Great Pyrenees breed, they’ve most likely passed away. See them below enjoying some freshly grilled steaks just after Christmas in 2016.

French Bulldog Puppy

In August 2024, Lady Gaga surprised her fans on TikTok with her new French Bulldog puppy. She has yet to reveal the blue and tan Merle Frenchie’s name.

Lady Gaga (real name Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta) is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. Both her musical and acting careers have received widespread acclaim, winning countless awards, including 13 Grammy Awards, two Golden Globe Awards, and an Oscar. Her debut album The Fame (2008) was a critical and commercial success that produced international chart-topping singles such as “Just Dance” and “Poker Face”. Her follow-up album, Born This Way (2011) was also a huge success, which included the chart-topping single “Born This Way”.

Lady Gaga started her career in acting with a leading role in season 5 of American Horror Story, which won her a Golden Globe Award. She also was cast in season 6. In 2019, she starred opposite Bradley Cooper in the film A Star Is Born, which earned them both multiple awards and nominations. She most recently starred in the film House of Gucci (2021) with Adam Driver, Jared Leto, Salma Hayek, and Al Pacino. Gaga is also well-known for her activism and philanthropy, through her Born This Way Foundation and by supporting multiple human rights and environmental causes.

Lady Gaga’s French Bulldogs Dognapping Incident

In February 2021, two of Lady Gaga’s three Frenchies were dognapped while out with their dog walker Ryan Fischer. While walking Gaga’s dogs Miss Asia, Koji, and Gustav, a car stopped and two suspects got out and approached the dog walker. The suspects demanded he hands the dogs over, a struggle ensued, and one of the suspects shot the dog walker in the lung. The two suspects grabbed Koji and Gustav and drove off, leaving Miss Asia and the dog walker. With the news making international headlines, Gaga made an Instagram post offering a $500,000 reward for her two pups. A few days later, a woman turned in the two dogs but was later charged along with four other people, for taking part in the robbery and shooting. The brave dog walker recovered from his injuries.

In April 2022, James Howard Jackson, who shot Gaga’s dogwalker, was mistakenly released from jail, before being caught in August 2022. In December 2022, Jackson was sentenced to 21 years in jail. The dogwalker confronted Jackson in court to forgive him and share how negatively being shot in the lung had affected his life since. Authorities noted they believe the dognappers targeted the Frenchies because of they’re a rare, expensive breed, not because of their famous owner.

Gaga was then sued by the accomplice of the kidnappers who returned the dogs.
