Missy Elliott Admits She Postponed Her Tour to Care for Her Dying 17-Year-Old Dog

Hip-hop icon Missy Elliott has just started a two-month tour across the States and Canada. The “Out of This World – The Missy Elliott Experience” will be her very first headline tour, with Ciara, Timbaland, and Busta Rhymes joining her. But she was originally going to launch this tour last summer and just revealed the reason in an interview with People: She wanted to stay home with Hoodie, her senior pup that was nearing the end of his life.

Named Hoodie, the 17-year-old Yorkie was a beloved furry fashion icon and world traveler. Elliot said, “I stayed home a lot because I didn’t want to go out on the road, and something happened. He was 17 and lived a long, happy life.”

She followed up saying, “Okay, now I can leave the house without having to worry about anything. So Ciara and my dog played a big influence in me making the decision to go out.” Elliot had another beloved Yorkie named Poncho who passed away in 2017. The pair of pooches is seen below during Christmas in 2012.

Missy currently has a 6-year-old Yorkie named Miss Fendi Dior. And by the name, you can bet she’s continuing Hoodie’s fashion legacy. She commented, “I know people sometimes be like, ‘Why y’all dressing those dogs?’… But she likes clothes. She really [does] like clothes. She [sees] me pulling out the outfit [and] she’s running. She knows that means.”

And yes Miss Fendi Dior is currently on tour with her mom!
