Country music icon and doggy savior Miranda Lambert just announced her upcoming benefit concert, “Music for Mutts.” The canine-themed concert will take place at the Ascend Amphitheater in Nashville on October 5th and will celebrate the 15th anniversary of Lambert’s MuttNation non-profit.
In a statement, Lambert said, “I wanted to do something special to celebrate MuttNation’s 15th anniversary and thought sharing an evening of great music with some great friends that will also feature lots of mutts would be about as much fun as anything I could imagine. We’ll have an adoption event and lots of other activities — and just make it a big party,” she added. “I hope everyone will come out and party with us.”
Founded by Lambert and her mom Bev in 2009, MuttNation has raised an impressive $10 million to support pet shelters and adoption initiatives. The non-profit spreads awareness and education and helps various shelters and rescue organizations. They also provide pet health services, such as neutering and spaying, for shelter dogs. They also help and relocate animals affected by natural disasters.
Miranda Lambert also made headlines back in March, when she raised $140k for MuttNation through her Las Vegas residency.
