In a recent video, Beckinsale tells a scary story of Willow sneaking out one night and getting attacked by wild animals, possibly raccoons or possums. Despite having some puncture wounds, her kitty is recovering well thanks to her new vet.

Then in the video’s comments, @tracey.waterhouse asked, “What happened why is she all pink? Please let me know as I have a white Persian cat” which got 48 likes. Beckinsale was kind enough to give her a lengthy reply which got 621 likes, saying, “it’s a very gentle nontoxic vegetable dye specifically for animals that causes them no harm and in fact actually Willow who had been quite depressed since Clive died really perked up after we tried it on her- very odd but the same thing happened years and years ago when we gave Clive a lion cut after his best friend our cat went missing and never came back and he was depressed for a whole year to where actually the vet was considering did he have dementia. he stopped grooming himself and wouldn’t let us groom him and was absolutely covered in dreadlocks and so we gave him this lion. Cutwith Cute ugg boots and just the tip of his tail and his face and I was not expecting it to lift his mood at all, but instantly he was a little new man springing about, so sorry for the long-winded explanation, but that is why x”

Despite the dye being pet-safe, not everyone was happy to see Willow’s new look. And like with dogs, cats can only see shades of grey, blue, and yellow – So Willow wouldn’t even notice her posh pink makeover. But the main thing is, that her kitty overcame her depression, which started over a year ago – As a result of Kate’s famous cat, Clive, passing away in June 2023.

Beckinsale showed off a pink Willow in a few previous Instagram posts, such as the Halloween one below. So it seems Willow has been doing better the last few months, but Kate didn’t fill her fans in outside of her recent comment above.

Kate also had a recent health scare of her own in March and shared a tearful hospital visit from her pets. Then in August, she attended an exclusive Pomeranian party with her Pom PYT.
