Mendes posted an Instagram reel of meeting Magic and his gotcha day. She also included some BTS of a yoga shoot – Proof that Magic is already an official celebrity pet. Mendes also used the reel to promote adoption and Magic’s rescue, California Doodle Rescue. And she signed off with “More to come…I’m crazy about her and excited to share life with Magic with you,” so we’re sure to get more Magic content soon!

Mendes and Gosling both support adoption and currently have a rescued Doberman named Lucho, who they adopted in July 2019 from the Friends for Life Rescue Network.

Gosling had a beloved rescue named George that he’d always talk about in interviews or bring to movie premieres. George sadly passed away in 2016 at the incredible age of 17.

Mendes previously had a Belgian Malinois guard dog named Hugo in 2011, for protection from a stalker. Gosling, who she had recently started dating, convinced her to adopt Hugo after he retired from protecting her. Hugo also got training from Cesar Millan.
