Dolly Parton’s Dog Releases Children’s Book ‘Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas’

Billy the Kid, Dolly Parton’s French Bulldog, has published his second book, titled Billy the Kid Comes Home for Christmas.

Ok, to set the record straight, Billy the Kid (BTK for short) is actually Dolly’s manager’s pup. But Dolly considers BTK her “god-dog,” with the Frenchie essentially her canine ambassador. And BTK actually had help creating this book, with artist Mackenzie Haley doing the illustrations for him.

BTK took inspiration from Dolly’s song “Comin’ Home for Christmas” to write the story. It follows a fictionalized version of BTK (ala Curb Your Enthusiasm) who plays in a successful Nashville-based canine band. His life couldn’t be any smoother…

Until his band is scheduled to perform at Barkafeller Center on Christmas Day. Then he must decide to either play at the canine version of the iconic NYC venue for millions of fans… Or spend Christmas with his family…

This book is BTK’s second, with his first released in April 2023, titled Billy The Kid Makes It Big.
