Nathalie Emmanuel
Nathalie Emmanuel is a British actress and model. Emmanuel began her acting career appearing in theatre in the late 1990s, acquiring roles in various West End productions such as the musical The Lion King. In 2006, she began her on-screen career by starring as Sasha Valentine in soap opera Hollyoaks, after which she appeared in various British television series until her debut film appearance in Twenty8k. Emmanuel gained international recognition for her role as Missandei in the HBO fantasy series Game of Thrones (2013–2019), and continued her career with supporting roles in Maze Runner: The Scorch Trials (2015) and its sequel Maze Runner: The Death Cure (2018), and in the Fast & Furious films Furious 7 (2015), The Fate of the Furious (2017), and F9 (2021).
Nathalie Emmanuel’s illustrious career has often seen her sharing the screen with industry greats. In 2013, Nathalie stepped into the world of Westeros in HBO’s “Game of Thrones,” collaborating with a constellation of stars including Emilia Clarke, Peter Dinklage, and Kit Harington. She then went on to rub shoulders with Vin Diesel, Dwayne Johnson, and Michelle Rodriguez in the adrenaline-pumping “Fast & Furious” franchise, specifically in “Furious 7” (2015) and “The Fate of the Furious” (2017). Her venture into voice acting in 2019 introduced her to another set of talented individuals, where she breathed life into the character Deet in the Netflix series “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance”, alongside Taron Egerton and Anya Taylor-Joy.
Nathalie’s versatile talent has not only allowed her to work with a myriad of high-profile figures but has also brought her recognition in various forms. In 2015, the Screen Actors Guild Awards honored the “Game of Thrones” ensemble, including Nathalie, with the “Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series” award. Two years later, she reprised her role in “The Fate of the Furious,” which went on to win “Choice Action Movie” at the Teen Choice Awards in 2017. Her unique voice portrayal in “The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance” led the series to be nominated for a Primetime Emmy in the category of “Outstanding Children’s Program” in 2020.
