Jonathan Pryce
Jonathan Pryce is a Welsh actor with multiple accolades, including two Tony Awards and an Academy Award nomination. His roles span across film, theatre, and television, with significant appearances as High Sparrow in HBO’s “Game of Thrones” and Governor Weatherby Swann in the “Pirates of the Caribbean” film series.
In his film career, Pryce portrayed Juan Perón in “Evita” (1996), alongside Madonna, and starred in Terry Gilliam‘s “Brazil” (1985), both of which are pivotal works in his filmography. His portrayal of Cardinal Jorge Mario Bergoglio in “The Two Popes” (2019) earned him an Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. In television, his role as High Sparrow in “Game of Thrones” from 2015 to 2016 was a key part of the series’ success.
