Janelle Monáe
Janelle Monáe Robinson is an American singer, songwriter, rapper, actress, and record producer. She first gained attention in 2007 with her conceptual EP Metropolis: Suite I (The Chase) and has since released four studio albums and a string of successful singles. Monae is known for her innovative fashion and music, as well as her activism in politics and supporting women’s rights. She has been nominated for numerous awards, including Grammy Awards, Golden Globe Awards, and Academy Awards, and has sold out tours across the world. Monae’s latest album, Dirty Computer, has been praised by critics for its social commentary and empowering messages.
After voicing a character in Rio 2 in 2015, she made her live acting debut in 2016 with roles in Hidden Figures and Moonlight. In 2022, she starred in Rian Johnson’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, alongside Daniel Craig, Kate Hudson, Jessica Henwick, Edward Norton, Kathryn Hahn, Dave Bautista, and Leslie Odom Jr.
