Chris Tucker is an American actor and comedian best known for his roles in the films Friday (1995) and the Rush Hour series (1998-2007). He played Smokey in Friday and Detective James Carter in the Rush Hour films.
Tucker began his career in stand-up comedy and transitioned to acting with his breakout role in Friday alongside Ice Cube. He played Ruby Rhod in The Fifth Element (1997) and starred in Money Talks (1997) with Charlie Sheen. Tucker also played a significant role in Silver Linings Playbook (2012), appearing alongside Robert De Niro and Jennifer Lawrence. Despite his film success, Tucker continues to perform stand-up comedy on various tours and specials.
