Jim Parsons
James Joseph “Jim” Parsons is an American actor. He is famous for his starring role as Sheldon Cooper on the TV sitcom The Big Bang Theory, which has earned him four Primetime Emmy Awards and one Golden Globe. His love of acting started at an early age, seeing him perform in school plays at age six. He was heavily involved in theater throughout high school and university, appearing in 17 plays over a 3-year period.
His professional career started with off-broadway theater productions, small TV appearances and commercials. He says he auditioned for up to 30 TV show pilots, with any that he was cast for failing to be picked up by a TV network. This eventually led to his big break with him winning a lead role in The Big Bang Theory, with premiered in 2007 and continues today. He stars alongside Kaley Cuoco, Johnny Galecki, Mayim Bialik, Simon Helberg, Melissa Rauch and Kunal Nayyar.
