It’s with a heavy heart that we report some sad news from the Kelce household… Just a year after losing their beloved Irish Wolfhound, Winnie last March, Kylie and Jason Kelce are now mourning the passing of their other Irish Wolfhound, 7-year-old Baloo. Kylie shared the news in a touching Instagram tribute, just one day before her 33rd birthday.
In her post, Kylie acknowledged the deep bond their daughters shared with Baloo, noting how they are processing the loss. It’s a tough time for the whole family, especially after having said goodbye to Winnie not too long ago. Losing one pet is difficult enough, but experiencing the loss of two cherished companions in such close succession is truly heartbreaking.
But the Kelce’s daughters had a heartwarming take on the loss that many of us adults can learn from. In the Instagram caption above, Kylie shares how she told her three daughters that Baloo has gone to heaven. Then her 4-year-old Ellie replied without skipping a beat, “Oh! He’ll get to be with Winnie again! They’ll be so happy to see each other!”
The post also saw family and celebrity friends commenting with their condolences, such as Jason’s brother Travis Kelce posting two crying face emojis and Always Sunny star Kaitlin Olson commenting, “I’m so sorry. Sending you all my hugs.” Comedian Whitney Cummings and sportscaster Erin Andrews both left heart emojis.
This follows some positive pup-related news, with Jason Kelce revealing in September 2024 that he got an Irish Wolfhound puppy named Nessie.
