Actress Mariska Hargitay posted her new Siamese cat on Instagram, with the announcement she named her “Karma,” after Taylor Swift’s hit song of the same name. This follows the pair’s years-long friendship, which started after the fact that Swift named her famous feline “Olivia Benson” after Hargitay’s character on Law & Order: SVU.
Hargitay shares two iconic shots of her new blue-eyed kitty: One of her lounging out on white sheets and a close-up of her cleaning her paws. She accompanied it with hashtags that add a feline touch to the lyrics of the song, “Karma is a Cat @taylorswift Meet Karma. My Cat. #MeAndKarmaVibeLikeThat #AndIKeepMySideOfMyPawClean #KarmaIsACat” A top comment on the post from @dionysia_pvr references their kitty-related friendship, saying, “So Taylor named her cat Olivia Benson and now Mariska names her cat Karma. I LIVE FOR THIS FRIENDSHIP.”
Judging by her comment, Taylor Swift found out about Karma via social media like the rest of us. And two days after Hargitay posted, Swift left the comment below, which already has over 30,000 likes.
