Wallace started life happily at the Sarasota Parrot Conservatory with his dad Greg Para, before rocketing to influencer status this year, delighting followers with his fun but gentle attitude.
He grew up with two Jack Russells and earned the nickname “Wart-Dog” due to his friendly doggy disposition. He befriended all the rescued animals at the sanctuary and also befriended hundreds of thousands of humans on Instagram and TikTok.
He was brought to the sanctuary in January 2022 at just three weeks old. And then Wallace tragically passed away on September 14, 2024.
Wallace’s heartbroken dad considered closing Wallace’s social media accounts, but his fans asked him to consider keeping them active – Both to preserve Wallace’s memory and share the lives of all the lovely rescues he also cares for.
If you want the full story of Wallace’s tragic passing, you can watch the video below. But note it will be pretty much impossible not to get emotional while listening to it.
And Wallace’s fur family have been doing their best to cheer up their dad during this difficult time.
While Wallace has crossed the Rainbow Bridge, you can still follow his family and their sanctuary via @wallacethewarthog on TikTok and Instagram, and the Sarasota Parrot Conservatory on Facebook.
