Shaun White and Nina Dobrev Mourn the Loss of Their French Bulldog Steve

Olympic champion snowboarder Shaun White started his heartfelt tribute to his French Bulldog Steve, “With a heavy heart I wanted to let everyone know that Steve’s health took a turn for the worse recently and he passed away peacefully at the age of almost 13.”

He reminisced over raising Steve and how blessed he feels to have had the pup in his life, saying “…he was the perfect amount of fun, loving, and crazy that you would want in a dog.”

Friends and fans poured their support into his post. Fellow Olympian Lindsay Vonn commented, I’m SO sorry! sending all the love.” Finneas, Billie Eilish’s brother and producer, commented, “Love u Dude,” and The Boys actor Chace Crawford said, “Sorry buddy. RIP Steve.” Rapper Kid Cudi (who most recently added a Shiba Inu to his fur family in January) said, “The pain of losing a pup is heavy. I know what ur goin through and I send all my love brother. hold ya head Shaun” Also White’s partner, actress Nina Dobrev, left a string of heart emojis in his comments. White credits Steve with helping him connect with Dobrev when the couple started dating.

The couple also share Maverick, a rescued Border Collie/Australian Shepherd mix, who White gave a snowboarding lesson in March.
