Randy Jackson’s career began as a session musician in the 1980s, where he played bass guitar for artists such as Aretha Franklin, Journey, and Whitney Houston. His work in the music industry includes producing albums for artists like Madonna. In 2002, Jackson became a judge on the reality TV singing competition “American Idol,” where he remained until 2013.
Jackson has collaborated with a diverse range of musicians throughout his career. His collaboration with Journey, where he played bass guitar on their 1986 album “Raised on Radio,” highlighted his versatility. Additionally, he has worked with Bruce Springsteen, Celine Dion, Michael Bolton, Mariah Carey, and Chris Kirkpatrick, Justin Timberlake, Joey Fatone, Lance Bass, and JC Chasez of NSYNC.
