Keri Russell is an American actress. She portrayed the titular character on the drama series Felicity (1998–2002), which won her a Golden Globe Award, and Elizabeth Jennings on the FX spy thriller series The Americans (2013–2018), which earned her nominations for several Primetime Emmy and Golden Globe Awards.

Russell has appeared in several films, including Honey, I Blew Up the Kid (1992), Mission: Impossible III (2006), Waitress (2007), August Rush (2007), Extraordinary Measures (2010), Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), Free State of Jones (2016), and Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker (2019). In 2017, she received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

One of her earliest notable associations was with J.J. Abrams, the creator of the TV series “Felicity” (1998-2002). Her portrayal of the title character, a young college student navigating her life and loves, brought her to the limelight and earned her a Golden Globe Award. She also worked with Abrams on the action-packed “Mission: Impossible III” (2006), starring Tom Cruise. Her character, Lindsey Farris, was a protegé to Cruise’s Ethan Hunt. Russell’s collaboration with Abrams came full circle when she joined the Star Wars universe in “Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker” (2019), where she played the mysterious Zorii Bliss. Sharing a past with the character Poe Dameron, played by Oscar Isaac, their interactions added depth to the film’s plot and displayed once again Russell’s ability to bring depth and intrigue to her roles.

Russell’s exceptional talent found another brilliant collaborator in Matt Reeves, co-creator of “Felicity,” who would later direct her in the emotionally-driven science fiction film “Dawn of the Planet of the Apes” (2014). Sharing screen space with Andy Serkis, a master of performance capture.

Russell’s talent for imbuing her characters with depth and complexity was also on full display in the period drama series “The Americans” (2013-2018), where she starred alongside Matthew Rhys. Their on-screen chemistry as a pair of Russian spies posing as an American couple during the Cold War was electric.

She continued her string of collaborative successes with Adam Driver in the Broadway revival of “Burn This” (2019). Their performances were lauded for the chemistry and emotional depth, with Russell’s portrayal of Anna, a dancer dealing with the loss of her roommate and best friend, earning her a nomination for the Drama League Award.
