Adam Brody
Adam Brody is an American actor, writer, musician, and produce. He gained recognition for his role as Seth Cohen on the television drama The O.C. (2003 – 2007). In 2005, Brody teamed up with director Doug Liman and an ensemble cast including Vince Vaughn, Angelina Jolie. and Brad Pitt in Mr. & Mrs. Smith. Around the same time, he teamed up with director Jason Reitman and the talented Elliot Page in the critically acclaimed movie Juno. He was also on Thank You for Smoking (2006), In the Land of Women (2007), Jennifer’s Body (2009) with Megan Fox, Cop Out (2010) with Tracy Morgan, Scream 4 (2011), Lovelace (2013), Life Partners (2014), and Sleeping with Other People (2015). In 2003, Brody wrote and produced the short film Home Security. The year 2012 saw him collaborate with Whit Stillman in the indie film Damsels in Distress, opposite Greta Gerwig. In 2019, his artistic journey brought him into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in Shazam!, directed by David F. Sandberg, where he played the superhero Freddy Freeman. He’s also the drummer for the rock band Big Japan.
Brody’s career trajectory has been accompanied by recognition for his performances. He received the Teen Choice Award for Choice TV Actor in a Drama Series for “The O.C.” in 2004, an honor that testified to his breakthrough role’s popularity. His work in “Juno” was collectively recognized when the film won Best Cast at the 2007 Film Independent Spirit Awards. More recently, his role in “StartUp,” a web television series where he plays a financier desperate to fund companies, earned him a nomination for the Critics’ Choice Television Award for Best Actor in a Drama Series in 2020.
Brody is married to actress Leighton Meester. The two met while filming The Oranges (2011) and married in February, 2014. The couple have a daughter, Arlo Day Brody who was born on August 4, 2015.
