Adam Driver
Adam Driver is an American actor and former US Marine who has become one of the most versatile and acclaimed performers of his generation. Born in San Diego, California, Driver started his acting career in 2009 and quickly gained attention for his intense and commanding presence on screen.
His breakout role was playing Adam Sackler in the HBO show Girls from 2012-2017 with Lena Dunham, which earned him three Primetime Emmy Award nominations. He later worked with director Noah Baumbach and starred in three of Baumbach’s films, including “Frances Ha,” “While We’re Young,” and “Marriage Story,” which earned Driver his first Academy Award nomination for Best Actor. Driver has also appeared in a number of other critically acclaimed films, including “BlacKkKlansman,” for which he received another Oscar nomination, and “Star Wars: The Force Awakens” and “The Last Jedi,” opposite John Boyega, Oscar Isaac and Daisy Ridley.
He founded the non-profit organization Arts in the Armed Forces in 2006, which provides free theater performances for military personnel, veterans, and their families. Driver is also an animal lover and advocate. He has spoken about the importance of animal welfare and has shared photos on social media of his own beloved pets, including a shelter rescue dog named Moose. In an interview with The Guardian, Driver said, “I think dogs are the closest thing we have to nature in our homes. They help us connect to something bigger than ourselves.”
