Patrick Schwarzenegger Says His Dad Arnold’s Mid-Life Crisis Has Turned Him into Dr. Dolittle

According to his son Patrick, it seems Arnold Schwarzenegger is more likely to star in a reboot of “Dr. Dolittle” than another Terminator movie, thanks to his crew of farm animals and dogs. “Dr. Dolittle meets mid-life crisis,” Patrick recently dished on his celebrity dad’s ever-expanding zoo during an interview on SiriusXM’s Literally! With Rob Lowe.

“It’s not just a couple dogs anymore,” Patrick explained, “It’s a lot of animals.” The celebrity son noted the collection has “grown a lot over the past couple years,” with Arnold now presiding over Whiskey the miniature horse, Lulu the donkey, a new pig named Schnelly, and dogs like Schnitzel, Cherry, and Noodle. Patrick often films the delightful chaos, admitting, “I’m like, ‘What is going on?’”

The rules of the Schwarzenegger household are, shall we say, accommodating to its four-legged residents. Patrick confirmed that Whiskey “is in the house, and she eats from the table,” and Lulu “is also in the house.” Arnold, according to his son, “will just be on his Instagram, just feeding the animals,” a sight that clearly brings joy to both father and son, who calls the whole scene “a lot of fun. It’s great.”

Despite the charming chaos, it’s clear Arnold is thriving in his role as patriarch to his furry and hoofed brood. “My dad is very happy when he’s with the animals,” Patrick shared. It seems even after a lifetime of blockbuster action, sometimes the greatest adventures are found right in your own (animal-filled) backyard.
