Martha Stewart Adopts 6th Cat with 4-Year-Old Persian Named Magnolia

Martha Stewart has proudly posted she added a new member to her fur family, with the adoption of Magnolia, a 4-year-old silver-shaded Persian cat. This brings her feline total to 6 after adopting two kittens on May 5th who she named Cinco and Mayo. She also has a rescued farm cat and two Bengal cats.

On her blog, Stewart shared her adoption experience with Rock n’ Rescue in New York and encouraged fans to adopt as well. She said, ” I love Persians and have been thinking of adding another to my family. I made an appointment to visit right away, and that same afternoon I took her with me back to Cantitoe Corners [Martha’s farm] – her new “forever” home.”

Originally named Angel, this beautiful Persian kitty ended up at the rescue after her human had passed away. After contacting the rescue a month ago, Stewart ended up being their first adoption of the year. It also ended up being a nice piece of promotion for Rock N’ Rescue and for adoption in general.

Stewart has had a long affinity with the Persian breed and has had six over the years. This includes two pairs with Teeny and Weeny, and Electra and Sirius. Her two most recent Persians were true celebrity cats, with Princess Peony (a calico Persian) tragically killed by her four dogs in April 2022 after mistaking her for an intruder. She also had three Himalayan cats (a sub-breed of Persian) with Vivaldi, Verdi, and Uncle Vanya.

Then Stewart had to say goodbye to her tri-color Persian named Empress Tang, who passed away in April 2024 at the age of 14.

Then on May 5th, she adopted two kittens from @gentlemensfarmstead and fittingly named them Cinco and Mayo.
