YouTuber Who Spent $16K to Turn Into a Dog Opens Zoo So People Can Become Animals

In 2022, a Japanese human named Toco-san went viral for loving dogs so much he wanted to become one – Which resulted in a realistic custom collie costume that set him back $16,000. Now he’s giving other humans the opportunity to transform into an animal at his just-opened “Tocotoco Zoo.”

Taco-san’s original collie costume took 40 days to complete, thanks to Zeppet Workshop (who is known for their costumes made for TV and movies). The newly opened zoo is located north of Tokyo in  Saitama Prefecture. And for right now, only a Malamute costume is available – With more on the way. Humans looking to visit need to make a reservation 30 days in advance for a three-hour experience that costs around $315.

The translation of the description reads, “I want to be an animal! I’m opening a zoo where you can become an animal, where you can fulfill your dream! I fulfilled my childhood dream of being an animal in the form of a clothesie. When I was young, all I thought was, ‘I wish there was a service where I could be an animal.’ Isn’t there something I can do now for someone who is like me? I thought. So, we’re opening a “Tokotoko Zoo” with a concept of ‘Animal-Become Zoo’! I plan to wear onesies and provide services that turn into animals!”
