Shepherd Succession: Gunther VI, World’s Richest Dog, Announces Retirement and Puppy Gunther VII

Gunther VI, the “world’s richest dog” up until last week, has a legacy stretching back to the early 1990s with his granddog, Gunther IV. Fast forward to April 2025, where Gunther VI has announced his retirement at the age of eight.

And who will succeed Gunther VI as top dog? Gunther VII of course. But this pup isn’t technically his son… With it now being the future and whatnot, Gunther VII is actually one of Gunther VI’s clones, which he shared in May 2024. Gunther VII was just officially revealed today in the post below. More on the privileged pup is expected soon, but one interesting tidbit is that the Gunther trust fund is now $500 million!

And earlier this month, Gunther VI launched his own luxury cologne.

And did you know that in 2023, Gunther VI bought Nicolas Cage’s private island in the Bahamas?
