Metro Boomin, whose real name is Leland Tyler Wayne, is an American record producer, songwriter, and DJ. He was born on September 16, 1993, in St. Louis, Missouri, and raised in Atlanta, Georgia. He first gained recognition for his work with prominent rappers, including Future, Gucci Mane, and 21 Savage.

Metro Boomin’s breakout role came when he was only 19 years old. He produced the hit single “Karate Chop” by Future featuring Lil Wayne, which peaked at number 82 on the US Billboard Hot 100. This was followed by a string of successful productions for Future, including the platinum-selling singles “Honest” and “Move That Dope.”
