Jaquel Spivey is an American actor known for his breakthrough role as Usher in the Broadway production of “A Strange Loop.” His performance garnered widespread acclaim, earning him a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Actor in a Musical, a Tony Award nomination for Best Actor in a Musical, and a Grammy Award nomination for the cast recording of the show in 2022.

After graduating from Point Park University with a degree in musical theatre in May 2021, Spivey stepped into the spotlight by succeeding Larry Owens as Usher in “A Strange Loop,” making his Broadway debut in April 2022 at the Lyceum Theatre.
