Garrett Wilson is an American football wide receiver for the New York Jets of the National Football League (NFL), selected as the 10th overall pick in the 2022 NFL Draft. Prior to joining the NFL, he played college football at Ohio State University, where he earned consensus All-American honors in 2021. In his rookie season with the Jets, Wilson was named to the Pro Football Writers Association (PFWA) All-Rookie Team, reflecting his immediate impact and performance in professional football.

While at Ohio State, Wilson distinguished himself as a key player for the Buckeyes, recording significant statistics that included 2,213 receiving yards and 23 touchdowns over three seasons. His college career set a foundation for his transition to the NFL, where he quickly adapted to the professional level, contributing significantly to the Jets’ offense from the outset. In his first season, Wilson set a Jets franchise record for the most receiving yards by a rookie, demonstrating his ability to translate collegiate success to the NFL.

Throughout his career, Wilson’s development and performance have been influenced by collaborations with notable figures in football. At Ohio State, his skill set was refined under the guidance of head coach Ryan Day and in tandem with quarterback C.J. Stroud, with whom he developed a dynamic on-field connection. In the NFL, his transition and early success were supported by connections with Jets’ quarterback Zach Wilson. Additionally, Wilson’s adaptation to the professional game has been facilitated by the mentorship of experienced teammates and the strategic direction of Jets’ offensive coordinator Mike LaFleur.
