Emily Bett Rickards
Emily Bett Rickards is a Canadian actress, best known for her role as Felicity Smoak on The CW series “Arrow.” Her portrayal of Felicity began with the series in 2012 and continued through its conclusion in 2020. Rickards’ character also appeared in other Arrowverse shows, including “The Flash,” “Legends of Tomorrow,” “Supergirl,” and the animated web series “Vixen.”
Born and raised in British Columbia, Rickards was introduced to musical theatre and dance at a young age. She graduated early from high school and completed the acting essentials program at the Vancouver Film School. Her career began with a role in the music video for Nickelback’s “Never Gonna Be Alone” in 2009. Rickards’ performance as Felicity Smoak earned her multiple Teen Choice and Leo Award nominations. In 2016, she was ranked number 15 in The Hollywood Reporter’s poll of 50 favorite female characters.
Rickards’ filmography includes roles in “Cowgirls ‘n Angels: Dakota’s Summer,” “Brooklyn,” “Slumber,” and “Axis.” She also appeared in the comedy “Funny Story,” which garnered several awards at film festivals. In addition to her film and television roles, Rickards has been involved in theatre, appearing in productions like “Reborning” with the Reality Curve Theatre Group.
