David Sedaris
David Sedaris is an American humorist, author, and radio contributor known for his essay collections Me Talk Pretty One Day and Dress Your Family in Corduroy and Denim, both of which became bestsellers.
Sedaris’s career took off after his essay “Santaland Diaries” was broadcast on National Public Radio in 1992. He has since published multiple essay collections, including Naked and Let’s Explore Diabetes with Owls, which have been translated into several languages. Sedaris has contributed essays to The New Yorker and Esquire and is known for his live readings and performances.
Sedaris collaborated with Ira Glass at NPR to bring his work to a broader audience. He worked with his sister, Amy Sedaris, on the book Simple Times: Crafts for Poor People. He has appeared on television shows with hosts like Stephen Colbert. His books are published by Little, Brown and Company. Sedaris’s essays have been included in anthologies edited by George Saunders. Additionally, he has worked with translator Valerie Miles for Spanish editions of his books.
