Axl Rose had an American Shorthair cat named Dexter “Dexy” Maranello Rose, that passed away in November 2021 at the age of 14.

Thank you to everyone for all the kind words n’ support w/Dexy’s passing, it means a lot. N’ thank you to all the animal lovers who shared their stories of losing a friend/family member. Good friends r hard to find n’ we’re all lucky when we find them (or they find us!)

In a rare interview with Jimmy Fallon in 2012, Axl Rose mentioned having his own “zoo” with cats, dogs, parrots, and wolves. He didn’t elaborate if it was a literal zoo or just that he has a bunch of pets. He also didn’t mention if the wolves are allowed on the couch or if they have their own living space separate from his other pets.

Axl Rose had a beloved dog named Rosie, who passed away on June 7, 2017. Guns N’ Roses performed later that day, with Rose dedicating a song to her.

W. Axl Rose is an American musician, singer, songwriter and record producer. He is best known for being the lead vocalist and lyricist of the hard rock and heavy metal band Guns N’ Roses, and has also been the band’s sole constant member since its inception in 1985. He has also toured with Australian rock band AC/DC, as a guest vocalist after Brian Johnson temporarily left the band due to hearing loss in 2016.
