Check out the World Dog Surfing Championship 2022

The World Dog Surfing Championship was held last weekend at Linda Mar Beach in Pacifica, California. First held in 2016, this year marks the 7th year “Where the Top Dog Surfers come together”.

This first event only had five dogs competing in two weight classes. This year, there are much more doggies catching waves, with five weight classes competing over ten heats. There was even a tandem dog/dog category and tandem dog/human category.

While this is to pit the best doggyboarders against each other, proceeds also go to support competitors and their teams’ chosen charities, along with the event donating to Rocket Dog Rescue and Peninsula Humane Society & SPCA.

An Australian cattle dog named Skyler took first place in the Top Dog Final Overall Champs, as well as first in the Human/Dog Tandem Category. To find out more, visit surfdogchampionships.com.
