Sugar the Surfing Dog is one of the most celebrated canine surfers, Having Won five World Dog Surfing Championships, as well as the HB Suft City Dog Champion, the Purina Pro Plan Incredible DOg Challenge, and more.
Now retired at 14 years old, Sugar’s legacy in surfing has been cemented (literally) with her being the first dog inducted into the Surfers’ Hall of Fame.
The very good girl was honored at a ceremony in her hometown Huntington Beach on December 5th.
Sugar was 7 months old when she was rescued from the streets by her human Ryan Rustan. On top of inspiring so many humans and dogs, Sugar is also credited with helping save her human’s life by helping him get over addiction and improving his mental health.
