Reese Witherspoon’s Daughter Ava Celebrates Four Years as a Rescue Dog Mom

Following in her farm animal and dog-loving mom Reese Witherspoon’s footsteps, Ava Phillippe is also a proud dog mom. She just reminded her million Instagram followers with a post, celebrating the 4th anniversary of her rescue dog Benji’s adoption day.

Ava treated Benji (who she shared in the comments, “¾ Border Collie with a little bit of Australian Kelpie— so yes, he’s very intelligent & athletic!”) to a hike for his “Gotcha Day.”

When Ava brought Benji home in October 2020, it was a joyful day but also a sad one. Her family’s French Bulldog, Pepper, had passed away the same day.

Ava was 21 when she adopted Benji, who is her first official dog.

Prior to Benji, Ava shared several dogs with her mom Reese. This included Hank, who was part of their family since she was 10 years old. Hank passed away in August, with both Ava and Reese paying tribute to their family’s “pack leader.”
