Tyler James Williams is an American actor, singer, and rapper known for his roles in the sitcom Everybody Hates Chris, the film The Station Agent, and the television series Criminal Minds. In 2005, he landed the role of Chris Rock in the series Everybody Hates Chris, for which he received NAACP Image Award nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series in 2007 and 2008. He also appeared in the 2006 film The Station Agent and in the 2007 film Let’s Go to Prison. In 2012, Williams was cast as the lead in the Nickelodeon series, How to Rock. Since 2016, he has starred as Noah on the CBS series Criminal Minds. He also stars in Quinta Brunson’s Abbott Elementary, which won him a Golden Globe Award in 2023. Abbot Elementary also stars Chris Perfetti, Janelle James, Lisa Ann Walter, Sheryl Lee Ralph, and William Stanford Davis.
