Steve Perry
Steve Perry is an American singer and songwriter, best known as the lead vocalist of the rock band Journey during their most commercially successful periods from 1977 to 1987, and again from 1995 to 1998. Perry’s powerful tenor voice and emotive songwriting were pivotal in propelling Journey to international fame, resulting in classics like “Don’t Stop Believin'” and “Faithfully.” He embarked on a solo career in 1984, releasing hits such as “Oh Sherrie” and “Foolish Heart.”
Perry’s solo albums, including “Street Talk” (1984) and “For the Love of Strange Medicine” (1994). His distinctive voice, characterized by its wide range and emotional depth, has earned him a place among the greatest rock vocalists of all time. After a lengthy hiatus, Perry returned to the music scene in 2018 with “Traces,” his first solo album in over two decades.
Throughout his career, Perry’s collaborations have been instrumental in shaping his musical journey. His work with Journey bandmates Neal Schon and Jonathan Cain contributed to some of the most iconic songs in rock history. Outside the band, Perry has collaborated with musicians such as Randy Goodrum, who co-wrote several tracks on “Street Talk,” and Lincoln Brewster, with whom he wrote and produced several songs.
